![]() Salemi has substantial experience in the education, mentoring, and advising of graduate/medical students, clinical and research post-docs, and junior faculty, and in 2019, was appointed as his department’s Director of Faculty Development at BCM. He currently serves as Chair of the Surveillance Guidelines and Standards Committee for the National Birth Defects Prevention Network (NBDPN) after serving as elected President of NBDPN in 2018. Salemi is nationally recognized as an expert in birth defects surveillance methodology, evaluation, and research. ![]() In 2019, he was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure.ĭr. Salemi was appointed Director of Analytics for the Center for Primary Care and Population Health Research (2015), Assistant Director of a HRSA-funded Postdoctoral Primary Care Research Fellowship (2015), and Clinical Research Trainer for BCM’s Center of Excellence in Health Equity, Training and Research (2017). Salemi accepted a tenure-earning Assistant Professor position at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston, TX. In addition to his degrees, he also earned Graduate Certificates in Biostatistics (2004) and in Applied Biostatistics (2008). ![]() Salemi is a native Tampeño and triple USF alumni having earned his BSc in Biology/Pre-Med Sciences (2000), and MPH (2005) and PhD (2014) both with a concentration in Epidemiology, from the University of South Florida (USF).
